In the gallery’s Waiting Room, 57W57arts will present a solo exhibition of recent oil paintings by Brooklyn-based artist Feng Guo. Color is a vital component in Guo’s work, where an initial layer of paint and the feeling it invokes act as the starting point of his intuitive process. As his canvases take form, a geometric vernacular imbued with subconscious searching begins to unfold. Born in 1989 in Inner Mongolia, China, Guo received his BFA from the Renmin University of China in 2012. He is a recent MFA graduate (2015) from The Pratt Institute in New York. This is Guo’s first exhibition with the gallery.
