"Nearly 35 years ago I made and exhibited my first stripe paintings and constructions. I have consistently revisited stripes throughout those years, both as a challenge to grow and learn more about my aesthetic, and as solace and serenity. As I am writing this, I’m working on a new series of stripes on burlap, spurred on by the 7 Stripes." - JH
